Debenhams – West End-ről a Westend-be
Egy hónappal ezelőtt meghívót kaptam az angol üzletlánc budapesti üzletének megnyitójára. Eddig ebben nincs semmi különös. Hacsak az nem, hogy a cég a stylistmunkáim alapján, a honlapomról keresett meg, és talált rám. Ez ugyebár nem jellemző a divatmárkákra, hogy kicsit körülnézzenek a szakma berkeiben…
Ezen a megnyitón, meglepő módon, nem a celebek jelentek meg, hanem a divatszakma képviselői. Igen sok bloggert láttam, úgy látszik a Debenhams felismerte az internet hatalmát, és a szakmát tartotta fontosabbnak az öt perc hírnév helyett.
Jómagam kíváncsi voltam, hogy hogyan sikerül ugyanazt a színvonalat hozni, mint amit már Londonban láttam. Bevallom volt bennem előítélet, hiszen nem egy olyan hazai üzletben jártam már, ahol a lefutott kollekciókat árultak horribilis áron.
Nos, a Westendben a márka honlapján látható ruhák ugyanúgy ott vannak, mint a világ bármelyik pontján lévő Debenhams-ben, ráadásul megfizethető áron. Megtalálhatóak a designer kollekciók: Julien MacDonald, Ben de Lisi, Jasper Conran,Matthew Williamson vagy John Rocha. Ezek mellett jó néhány komoly árengedménnyel csábítják a magyar vásárlókat.
További pozitívum, hogy csaknem minden kollekciót 46-os méretig kínálnak. Ezzel azt gondolom nagyot fognak tarolni, hiszen Magyarországon 38-as ruhaméret felett sajnos általában megáll a trendi kínálat. Alaposan körülnéztem, és ez a választék a fehérneműkre, fürdőruhákra is igaz. Remélem ezt a jó szokásukat a későbbiekben is megtartják. Hátha mások is tanulnak majd belőle. A cipők közül kb. egy fél tucatot rögtön kedvem lett volna hazavinni…
A legtöbb magyar vásárlónak eddig csak secondhand üzletekből ismert márkák immáron a budapestiek számára is elérhetővé váltak. De a vidékieknek sem kell szomorkodniuk, hamarosan újabb Debenhams üzletek nyílnak majd az országban.

At the opening, surprisingly, there were more fashion industry representatives than celebrities. I saw a lot of bloggers who seemed to have recognised the power of the Internet to Debenhams and that the Industry professionals was far more important than the celebs and their five minutes of fame.
I was wondering to myself, how to bring the same standard to Budapest as that already seen in London? I admit I am prejudiced, as local retailers normally sell out of fashion collections at outrageous prices.
Well, the Debenhams website shows that the same clothes are available worldwide at any Debenhams and at affordable prices. The collections of designer Julien MacDonald, Ben de Lisi, Jasper Conran, Matthew Williamson and John Rocha can be found. In addition, several significant discounts are available to entice Hungarian shoppers.
Another big positive is that almost every collection has 46-inch sizes. I think this will be a successful store, since in Hungary, clothing for women 38 and over is anything but fashionable. I looked around carefully, and this also rings true for the selection of underwear & swim wear. I hope this good habit will continue to be maintained. Perhaps others will learn from it. The shoes are the same. I wanted to take half a dozen pairs home …
Most Hungarian shoppers have only secondhand shops in Budapest where well-known brands can sometimes be found. But people living in the countryside should not be sad, soon new Debenhams stores will be opening across the country.
